Il-Ħamis 6 t’Awwissu filgħodu wara l-quddiesa adorazzjoni mill-Grupp tal-Ħniena Divina. Wara l-quddiesa ta’ filgħaxija ssir l-adorazzjoni fil-Knisja Parrokkjali bi tħejjija għall-Festa Parrokkjali. Fit-8.00pm issir il-laqgħa taż-Żgħażagħ 20+.
Il-Ġimgħa 7 t’Awwissu l-ewwel ġimgħa tax-xahar. Il-kappella tas-Sorijiet Franġiskani tkun miftuħa għat-talb fin-nofstanhar ta’ filgħodu. Filgħodu jsir it-tqarbin tal-morda tal-ewwel grupp. Filgħaxija ser issir Majjalata fi Triq ir-Ramlija (ħdejn iċ-Ċimiteru) bħala parti mil-Lejla Mġarrija. Id-dħul imur għall-proġett tas-Sagristija. Inħeġġukom taqtgħu l-biljetti tagħkom.
Is-Sibt 8 t’Awwissu fl-4.30pm isiru l-provi tal-Kor tat-tfal għall-Festa. Inħeġġu tfal ġodda jingħaqdu mal-Kor.
Dakinhar nagħtu bidu għall-Kwindiċina tal-Festa. Fis-7.00pm Quddiesa u wara jsir il-ħruġ tal-Vara ta’ Santa Marija min-niċċa għall-ġranet tal-festa.
Il-Ħadd 9 t’Awwissu: It-Tieni Jum tal-Kwindiċina, Jum il-Ħajja: Fl-10.30am Quddiesa li fiha jiġi ċċelebrat is-Sagrament tal-Magħmudija. Wara l-Quddiesa jsir it-talb tal-Kwindiċina u tingħata l-Barka Sagramentali.
Filgħaxija ssir il-Lejla Mġarrija fil-Pjazza, ikun hemm show tal-karozzi u serata ta’ divertiment u ikel u xorb fuq iz-Zuntier. Dakinhar ser issir wirja ta’ frott u ħaxix, għalhekk min jixtieq iġib xi prodotti jkellem lil kappillan jew lil xi membru tal-kummissjoni.

Matul dan il-weekend issir il-ġabra speċjali għall-bżonnijiet tal-Parroċċa.
Qed jitqassam Dawl il-Punent bil-programm kollu tal-festa flimkien mal-enevelop għall-bżonnijiet tal-festa. Dawk li jixtiequ jgħinu għandhom iġibu l-envelop il-Knisja għaliex mhux ser jinġabar bieb bieb. Inħeġġu d-distributuri jiġbru u jqassmu l-kopji tagħhom.
Qed issir kompetizzjoni tat-tpinġija għat-tfal. Jistgħu jieħdu karta minn fuq wara tal-Knisja u għandhom iġibuha lura sal-Ħadd 9 t’Awwissu.
Dawk li jixtiequ jordanaw il-bukkett tal-fjuri għal quddiem Santa Marija għandhom ikellmu lill-Kappillan jew lil Marija Micallef.
Bukketti li ma jinxfux: Min jixtieq jagħmel l-offerta tiegħu fil-festa, bukkett li ma jinxifx, din is-sena ser imorru biex inħallsu s-sistema ġdida tas-Sound tal-Knisja u sistema ta’ sound portable għal waqt il-purċissjonijiet. Ingħatajna €10,000 mis-Social Causes fund u jonqos niġbru €15,895. Min jixtieq jikkontribwixxi għandu javviċina lill-Kappillan. Kull għotja hija ferm apprezzata.
Fil-Kwindiċina tat-Tnejn 10’Awwissu ser nitolbu għal dawk li għaddew għall-ħajja ta’ dejjem minn Awwissu li għadda ‘l hawn. Inħeġġu lill-familjari tagħhom jattendu u jġibu santa biex inweħħluha fil-Knisja dakinhar.
L-Erbgħa 12 t’Awwissu ser issir il-preżentazzjoni tat-trabi lil Santa Marija. Inħeġġu l-koppji biex iġibu t-trabi tagħhom u jinfurmawna bl-attendenza tagħhom.
Nistiednu l-Koppji li żżewġgu din is-sena, jew qed jagħlqu l-25 u l-50 anniversarju miż-żwieġ tagħhom għal Jum il-Familja il-Ħadd 16 t’Awwissu, quddiesa fis-7pm fuq iz-Zuntier tal-Knisja.
Parish Notices – 3rd to 9th August 2026
Tuesday 4th August
At 7:30pm, everyone is invited to the inauguration evening marking the completion of the restoration of the original painting of the Altar of St Joseph, generously financed by the Bank of Valletta (BOV). The evening will include an explanation of the restoration work carried out, together with a musical performance by soprano Joanne Camilleri, accompanied by organist Maria Vella.
Wednesday 5th August
At 5:00pm, the Children’s Summer Club meets at the Oratory.
At 7:00pm, there will be a Mass for children in the Parish Church.
Thursday 6th August
Following the morning Mass, there will be Eucharistic Adoration led by the Divine Mercy Group.
After the evening Mass, Adoration will be held in the Parish Church as part of our spiritual preparation for the Parish Feast.
At 8:00pm, the 20+ Youth Group will meet.
Friday 7th August – First Friday of the Month
The chapel of the Franciscan Sisters will be open for prayer throughout the morning.
Holy Communion will be taken to the sick of the first group during the morning.
In the evening, a Pork Feast (Majjalata) will be held in Triq ir-Ramlija (near the Cemetery) as part of Lejla Mġarrija. All proceeds will go towards the Sacristy Project. We encourage everyone to purchase their tickets.
Saturday 8th August
At 4:30pm, the Children’s Choir will hold rehearsals for the Feast. New children are warmly encouraged to join the choir.
On this day we begin the Fifteen Days (Kwindiċina) of preparation for the Parish Feast.
At 7:00pm, Mass will be celebrated, followed by the solemn translation of the statue of Our Lady (Santa Marija) from its niche for the Feast celebrations.
Sunday 9th August – Second Day of the Kwindiċina – Day of Life
At 10:30am, Mass during which the Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated. After Mass, the Kwindiċina prayers will be recited, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
In the evening, Lejla Mġarrija will take place in the Village Square, featuring a car show, entertainment, food and drinks on the church parvis. A fruit and vegetable exhibition will also be held. Anyone wishing to contribute produce is kindly asked to speak to the Parish Priest or a member of the organising committee.
We remind everyone about the Sacristy Fundraising Scheme.
A special collection for the needs of the Parish will be taken up during all Masses this weekend.
The latest edition of Dawl il-Punent, together with the full Feast programme and the Feast donation envelope, is currently being distributed. Those wishing to make a contribution are kindly asked to return their envelope to the Parish Church, as envelopes will not be collected door to door this year. We also encourage all distributors to collect and deliver their allocated copies.
A children’s colouring competition is currently being organised. Entry sheets are available at the back of the Church and should be returned by Sunday 9th August.
Those wishing to sponsor the floral bouquet placed in front of the statue of Our Lady are kindly asked to contact the Parish Priest or Maria Micallef.
Everlasting Bouquets:
Those who would like to make their Feast offering through an everlasting bouquet are invited to do so. This year’s donations will help finance the new church sound system and a portable sound system for use during processions. The Parish has received €10,000 from the Social Causes Fund, and €15,895 still needs to be raised. Anyone wishing to contribute is kindly asked to contact the Parish Priest. Every donation is greatly appreciated.
During the Kwindiċina on Monday 10th August, we will pray for all those from our Parish who have passed away since last August. Their families are encouraged to attend and to bring a holy card or memorial photograph to be displayed in the Church that evening.
On Wednesday 12th August, there will be the Presentation of Babies to Our Lady. Couples are warmly encouraged to bring their babies and to inform us in advance of their attendance.
We also invite all couples who were married this year, as well as those celebrating their 25th or 50th wedding anniversary, to join us for Family Day on Sunday 16th August. Mass will be celebrated at 7:00pm on the church parvis.
