Għada/llum– Fil-Quddiesa tal-10.30am issir il-preżentazzjoni tat-trabi lil Santa Marija.

Filgħaxija nieħdu sehem fil-festa ta’ Ħad-Dingli.

It-Tnejn 18 t’Awwissu L-10 Jum tal-Kwindiċina, Fis-7.00pm Quddiesa għaż-Żgħażagħ kollha u wara attività għalihom fuq iz-Zuntier.

It-Tlieta 19 t’Awwissu L-11 -il Jum tal-Kwindiċina, Fis-7.00pm quddiesa u wara ser isir kunċert mill-Kor Parrokkjali Regina Coeli u taħdita minn Dun Samuel Grech studjuż fil-Marjoloġija fl-okkażjoni tal-75 Anniversarju mill-proklamazzjoni tad-Domma tal-Assunta. Kulħadd mistieden.

Mill-Erbgħa 20 sal-Ġimgħa 22 t’Awwissu jkollna ċ-Ċelebrazzjoni tat-Tridu. Fis-7.00pm Quddiesa bil-prietka mmexxija minn Mons. Daniel Xerri, Arċipriet tax-Xewkija u wara ċ-Ċelebrazzjoni tat-Tridu. L-Erbgħa mistednin speċjali l-Operaturi Pastorali, l-Ħamis l-Emigranti li hawn fostna u l-barranin u l-Ġimgħa s-Saċerdoti u r-Reliġjużi Mġarrin. Inħeġġukom tattendu għal dawn il-jiem ta’ preparazzjoni.

Nhar il-Ħamis 21 t’Awwissu ser issir l-ikla tal-Festa fuq iz-Zuntier tal-Knisja b’risq il-Festa. Inħeġġukom tibbukkjaw il-post tagħkom.

Is-Sibt 23 t’Awwissu: Lejliet il-Festa: Fid-9.30am Quddiesa bil-kant tat-Te Deum bis-sehem speċjali tal-morda u l-anzjani tal-Parroċċa tagħna u dawk rikoverati fil-djar tal-anzjani. Fil-Quddiesa jiġi amministrat is-Sagrament tal-Griżma tal-Morda.

Fis-6.15pm Translazzjoni Solenni tar-Relikwija mill-Kappella tas-Sorijiet Franġiskani bis-sehem tal-fratelli li tgħaddi għal Triq Dun Edgar, Triq il-Kbira u lura l-Knisja, kif naslu l-Knisja jitkanta l-Ewwel Għasar. Fis-7.00pm Quddiesa Solenni ta’ Lejliet il-Festa. Fid-8.45pm Programm mis-Soċjetà Filarmonika Marija Mtellgħa s-Sema fuq iz-Zuntier tal-Knisja u wara jkun hemm il-ħruq tan-Nar tal-ajru u tal-art mis-Soċjetà Spettaklu.

Fid-9.00am Pontifikal Solenni tal-Festa mmexxi mill-E.T. Mons. George Bugeja OFM, Isqof ta’ Tripoli. Jinseġ il-Paniġierku Patri Alan Joseph Adami O.P.

Fil-11.00am Quddiesa Letta. (ma jkunx hawn quddiesa tal-10.30am u fiż-Żebbiegħ ma jkunx hemm tal-11.30am)

Fl-12.00pm Tintalab it-talba tal-Anġelus fejn l-istatwa tal-Assunta mal-ġenb tal-Knisja u ssir l-offerta għall-irfigħ tal-Vara.

Fil-5.30pm Quddiesa li fiha nitolbu t-Tieni Għasar tal-Festa.

Fis-7.00pm tibda ħierġa l-Purċissjoni bil-vara ta’ Santa Marija, meta toqrob lejn Triq Vitale jibda r-Rużarju. Fejn l-Oratorju jilqa’ lil Santa Marija l-Kor tat-Tfal. Fl-10.00pm nilqgħu l-istatwa fuq iz-Zuntier tal-Knisja u fl-10.30pm isir id-dħul fil-knisja u tingħata l-Barka Sagramentali.

Infakkru fl-iskema tas-Sagristija.

L-Envelope li qed jitqassam fid-djar b’risq l-ispejjeż tal-festa mhux ser jinġabar, għalhekk min jixtieq jikkontribwixxi għandu jġib l-envelope il-knisja.

Dawk li jixtiequ jagħmlu l-bukkett tal-fjuri quddiem l-istatwa ta’ Santa Marija fil-festa jistgħu jkellmu lil Marija Micallef jew lill-Kappillan mhux aktar tard minn nhar it-Tlieta.

Bukketti li ma jinxfux: Min jixtieq jagħmel l-offerta tiegħu fil-festa, bukkett li ma jinxifx,  din is-sena ser imorru biex issir l-art il-ġdida tal-irħam tal-ewwel sular tas-Sagristija li ser tiġi tiswa’ €9000. Min jixtieq jikkontribwixxi għandu javviċina lill-Kappillan. Kull għotja hija ferm apprezzata.

L-isbaħ u l-akbar ħaġa li biha nistgħu nħejju ruħna tajjeb għall-festa tagħna hija li nersqu għas-sagramenti. Li nagħmlu qrara u tqarbina tajba. Ejjew inżommu dan quddiemna biex verament nagħmlu ċelebrazzjonijiet li jixirqu lil ommna Marija.

PARISH NOTICES:
Tomorrow/today – During the 10:30am Mass, there will be the presentation of babies to Our Lady (Santa Marija).
In the evening, we will participate in the feast at Ħad-Dingli.

Monday, 18th August – 10th Day of Preparation
At 7:00pm: Mass for all the youth, followed by an activity for them in the church square.

Tuesday, 19th August – 11th Day of Preparation
At 7:00pm: Mass, followed by a concert by the Regina Coeli Parish Choir and a talk by Fr. Samuel Grech, a scholar in Mariology, on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the proclamation of the Dogma of the Assumption. Everyone is welcome.

From Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd August – Triduum Celebrations
At 7:00pm: Mass with a homily led by Mons. Daniel Xerri, Archpriest of Xewkija, followed by the Triduum celebration.

  • Wednesday: Special guests – Pastoral Operators
  • Thursday: Emigrants among us and foreigners
  • Friday: Priests and Religious from Mġarr
    We encourage you to attend these days of preparation.

Thursday, 21st August
There will be the Festa Dinner in the Church Square in aid of the feast. We encourage you to book your place.

Saturday, 23rd August – Festa Eve
At 9:30am: Mass with the singing of the Te Deum, with the special participation of the sick and elderly of our parish and those in care homes. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be administered during this Mass.
At 6:15pm: Solemn Translation of the Relic from the Franciscan Sisters’ Chapel, with the participation of the confraternity, passing through Dun Edgar Street, Main Street, and back to the Church. Upon arrival, the First Vespers will be sung.
At 7:00pm: Solemn Vigil Mass of the Festa.
At 8:45pm: A program by the Assumption Philharmonic Society in the Church Square, followed by an aerial and ground fireworks show by the Spectacle Society.

Sunday, 24th August – Feast Day of the Assumption
At 9:00am: Solemn Pontifical Mass led by H.E. Mons. George Bugeja OFM, Bishop of Tripoli. The Panegyric will be delivered by Fr. Alan Joseph Adami O.P.
At 11:00am: Low Mass (Note: there will be no 10:30am Mass, and in Żebbiegħ, no 11:30am Mass)
At 12:00pm: The Angelus prayer will be recited next to the statue of the Assumption by the side of the Church, and the offering for the carrying of the statue will take place.
At 5:30pm: Mass including the Second Vespers of the Feast.
At 7:00pm: The procession with the statue of Our Lady begins. When nearing Triq Vitale, the Rosary will start. At the Oratory, the Children’s Choir will welcome Our Lady.
At 10:00pm: The statue returns to the Church Square, and at 10:30pm, the statue will be brought into the Church and the Eucharistic Blessing will be given.

Reminders:

  • Reminder to the sacristy benefactor scheme.
  • The envelope being distributed in homes in aid of the feast expenses will not be collected. Those wishing to contribute should bring the envelope to the church.
  • Those who wish to offer a flower bouquet in front of the statue of Our Lady for the feast should speak with Marija Micallef or the Parish Priest by Tuesday at the latest.
  • Non-perishable flower bouquets: Those wishing to make an offering of a lasting bouquet this year will be contributing towards the new marble flooring of the sacristy’s first floor, which will cost €9000. Anyone interested should speak to the Parish Priest. All donations are greatly appreciated.

The most beautiful and greatest way we can truly prepare for our feast is by approaching the sacraments: by making a good confession and receiving Holy Communion worthily.
Let us keep this in mind to ensure we celebrate in a way worthy of our Mother Mary.
