PARISH NOTICES:

On Monday, 29th December, at 3.00pm, the Christmas party for the elderly will be held at the Oratory. On this day the Forty Hours Devotion will begin and will continue until Wednesday, 31st December. These are three days of silent adoration from 8.00am to 6.00pm. At 5.30pm there will be guided adoration on all three days, followed by the Rosary. It is good to find some time for prayer before Jesus in the Eucharist. At the back of the church there is a sheet where you can write your name so that the Eucharist is never left alone.

On Tuesday, 30th December, at 10.00am, there will be a children’s animated adoration in the Parish Church.

On Wednesday, 31st December, the last day of the year, there will be a Thanksgiving Mass at 6.30pm, during which we will thank God for all that He has done for us throughout the year. At the end of Mass, the Te Deum will be sung and the Sacramental Blessing will be given.

On Thursday, 1st January, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, the Masses in both the Parish Church and the Żebbieġ Church will follow the Sunday schedule. The collection taken on this day will go entirely to Dar tal-Providenza.

On Friday, 2nd January, there will be a moment of prayer for the Confirmation candidates here in the Church, followed by a Christmas outing for them. Communion for the sick will not be distributed on that day.

At the back of the church there is a box where you may place your donations in aid of Dar tal-Providenza. We encourage you to be generous.

Tomorrow/Today, Sunday, children may have their photo taken with Father Christmas near the back doors of the Church from after the 9.00am Mass until 11.30am. All donations collected will go to Dar tal-Providenza.

We also remind you about the Sacristy project scheme.

The Christmas collection envelopes in aid of the Sacristy project are being distributed. These will not be collected door to door, so those who wish to contribute are asked to bring their envelope to the Church. Thank you for your support.

Next weekend there will be a special collection for the needs of the Parish.

The Children’s and Families’ Mass Commission is organising a collection of food and preserves for the Franciscan Soup Kitchen in Valletta, which will be presented on the Feast of the Epiphany. Those who wish to help may place their donations in the baskets at the entrance of the Church.

The Local Council announces that this year, on the Feast of the Epiphany, the Three Kings are also inviting children to write a message to be passed on to the Pope. These messages are to be brought by 4th January.
